Madison King & Mary Arnhart, Barry Co. MO; b. 1817 TN, d. after 1870

Found what I need on Madison before 1860; wife Mary Arnhart who died ca 1857. Need to identify Madison's 2nd wife Louisa Jane UNK, b. 1834 TN. I know his parents were Jesse & Martha.

ARNHART - NEWSPAPERS

Hi: For some time now, I have been typing Barry Co., MO, newspaper items. I now have posted the years 1890 through 1913. And in among the listings there were a lot of Arnhart surnames.

I am typing on the 1914 ones now and when I have the project finished it will go through 1921. But there are already a lot of papers listed and tons of information that will interest researchers of Barry Co., MO and the surrounding areas.

There is a search engine on the front page, and you will probably need it - but if you just want to walk through them, then just go down the page and you will see listed the Barry Co., MO Newspaper project.

Hi: I posted a lot of newspaper items from Barry County, MO, newspapers on my web site and in among the listings were several for the surname of Arnhart.

It seems that some of the names were from other surrounding areas to Barry County.

You will probably need the search engine because there are around 44 web pages of the items.

Be sure and think of all the ways that the name might have been spelled, too, because these papers are around the turn of the century and also the later part of the 1800's. They did about everything they could think of to names in those days.

My name is Thomas Arnhart and I am a descendent of Susan Christopher and William F. Arnhart I may be able to help you out with some of the information you are looking for .and also the 2nd marriage of Susan Christopher Arnhart and James Starnes. The two in question were my great-great grandparents. According to a story told to me by some old cousins of mine who would have been grandchildren of theirs, they said that Susan was actually the product of an attack on her mother by an Indian but was accepted by her mother's husband as his own. She was the youngest of her siblings. They had two boys, my great-grandfather, William Henry Arnhart and Peter Arnhart. Peter's son, Harvey told us this story.

I am trying to get some info on a Mary E. She married Joshua Arnhart b August 1866, son of George A. Arnhart. She was born in Washington April 1868, according to the the 1900 census. Father VA, Mother Penn. They lived in Missouri, New Mexico, and Joshua died Tacoma WA Aprox 1947. Mary Died shortly before Joshua They had: Roger Burris b.February 1890, Maymie B,Glen ,Jessie

I am an Arnhart but haven't figured how Mary E.fits into
the tree. Found some of your tree on Ancestry.com,gene pool
individual records. Seems Mary E. and John R. Ricketts had 2 sons,
Charles Burton,dob 1 or 11, Nov. 1882 and Will, 7 July 1872
Charles married Nora Matlock, 15, Dec. 1905. He and Will both died in OR.
There were a lot of Arnharts from Barry Co, Mo, It might be a place to
start since the Ricketts were also born there.

I tried to email the address given in your message but it came back to me. Anyway, Mary E. Arnhart is my first cousin 5 times removed, or something like that :). I am a descendant of George Arnhart (b. October 16, 1792 d.January 22, 1856) My info on Mary and her family is rather thin and I have that she was married to John Simpson Ricketts who was b. January 01, 1846 in Cole Co, MO and d. April 16, 1918 in OR. I have some on Mary's Ancestors thanks ot my Grandfather Thomas Arnhart, he has also been doing research on the Arnhart name. I am always interested in swapping info.
