I believe you have mixed up two different Albertises. The Albertis that had children by his slave Gracie could not have been the one born in 1838 and child of James Arnwine and Nancy Lively since this Albertis is listed on the Claiborne Co. TN 1839 Tax Rolls. However, the older Albertis did have a brother named James. Although I haven't had a chance to research James yet, I suspect that he is the same James that married Nancy Lively. My husband is the gggg-grandson of Daniel Arnwine -- brother to the older Albertis and James. By the way, their father's name was James. (This is where I think your confusion came from.)
