The only family of the same name is Tedora Arredondo, who was the god mother to my side of the family (Noriega-Preciado). She was the Godmother to Charlotte Noriega, who married Judge Charles Victor Gottschalk, of San Andreas, California. See under this section Murrieta/Noriega/Gottschalk/Feliz/Blanco.
This last name is rare, and I would venture to say that anyone you may find "may be" related. This particlular woman was of great historical reference as it relates to California history. Our family still maintains a lot of her personal records. You may also locate some of her interviews by author/historian : Frank Forrest Latta in his book titled" Joaquin Murrieta and his Horse Gangs, this is a rare book, and you may have to ask a dealer to locate th book if you are interested - or check the local library. I know, on exist at these locations in California, USA: San Andreas County Museum - Llorayne Kennedy, Archivist 209/754-3910; Stanislaus County Library - Special Collections Room; Livermore Public Library; and the Merced County Historical Museum.
