I still encourage you to read between the lines the books you find in the Spanish Libraries. Believe me the Spanish Americas were not a place people came to because they wanted a change of scenery. It was a very harsh and unforgiving environment - and many died.

The sad truth to all of this is the bind these immigrates were put in. They had to appear to be Catholic, while trying to hold on to their Jewish identity. After being here for five hundred years it has come to this. My family goes to church for births, marriages and deaths and other then that we do not even mention being Catholic in our daily lives. Sadly we are not Jews either, holding on to odd just the odd tradition and way of preparing food.
