Question for about Jean Arsenault & Marie Bastarache.

Does anyone know why this is each their 2nd Marrage? I have been wondering about that. I would think it would have been somewhat scandalous for the time, that is unless someone passes away or something.

I pulled what I believe is the marriage certificate from Fitchburg, MA, City Hall, City Clerk's Office. You mentioned that Jean Arsenault was born in Baie Egmont, PEI. The marriage certificate (which could be incorrect) lists his birthplace in New Brunswick. It lists John's parents as - Moses Aresenault & Seraphie Gallant. Are these the right folks?

If you can shed some light on this. I would appreciate it :)
