Hi,
I'm somewhat familiar with the Sabine Par. Arthurs. Mine were in Claiborne Par, near Homer and Bienville, Par. in 1850ish. Moved to Smith Co. TX in 1865. I think the Sabine Par folks were from somewhere in Miss. They may be related but unestablished at present.
TR and JP had 5 boys that were in the 17th LA. Inf. which was also at Shiloh and then most of the battles in LA and ARK. They were pretty much all captured at Vicksburg.
Thanks for your reply. If you find out the predecessors name, let me know at boba100@aol.com. I'm very familiar with the Toro Bayou area. Friend named Rowzee runs canoe trips in that area.
Regards,
Bob
