There are quite a few Arthur's in Sabine Parish, and Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana. My G.G.F. was Benjamin Franklin Arthur. He died around 1925 and is buried in Toro Cemetary, Florien LA. He served during the Civil War with a J.W. Arthur who we think was his brother. Both fought with the 18th Infantry, Company B, CSA. Both saw action during the Battle of Shiloh,TN and Battle of Mansfield, LA. My dad told a story that there were 5 Arthur brothers who came to the Sabine River area and some went to Texas. I have access the BFArthur's parents name and will forward when able.
Good Luck
