I was born in Dreweryville, Southampton County, Virginia. My Great grandfather was Charlie A. BROWN his wife was Mary Holly (Holley).,and had two other brother possibly more, Their names were William and James Brown. I'm related to the Artis family by blood relations. My Great Grandmother on my mothers side of the family was Cathrine Artis who married Waverly Atkins. They had a daughter named Susan Atkins Who married Nathaniel Vaden... My great Grandmother had two (2) brothers John Artis and John Hunt. On My mothers side of the family I'm related to the HUNTS, Wyches, Powell, Washingtons, Carey, Joyners, Williams.,etc. Are you related to: Nettie Artis, Alex Artis, Henry Artis, Herbert Artis, Rosa Artis Cozett Artis, John Artis Sr and John Artis Jr. Some of the Artis family still live in Suffolk area and Capron, VA.
