In the Hill family, the legend goes there was an Indian chief named Artrip who was wounded and nursed back to health by a white woman named Hill. They had a child & it was named Wesley Hill. The Indian chief Artrip is supposedly buried on Paint Creek in Kentucky.
Now we all know that there is sometimes a little bit of truth hidden in myths and legends.
Has anyone in the Artrip family heard this legend?
I am researching the Hill family from Morgan County Kentucky.
Thank you.
