Leslie A. Baumann
Leslie A. Baumann, 91, Wausau, formerly of Rib Falls, died Monday, March 22, 2004, under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital.

He was born Aug. 15, 1912, in Rib Falls, son of the late Henry and Wilemenia (Dahlke) Baumann. Leslie married Alice Artus on Aug. 3, 1939. She preceded him in death on Dec. 23, 1955. He later married Luella (Ahrensdorf) Lambrecht on Aug. 31, 1958. She preceded him in death on Aug. 23, 1999.

Leslie farmed all his life in Rib Falls. He loved to play sheepshead and enjoyed finding jobs to do around the farm. He was a member of St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, Marathon. Special to Leslie was his strong faith in God and the many trips to church, followed by a long drive in the country. Leslie was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Survivors include his children, Arlene Graveen, Wausau, and Harold (Nancy) Baumann, Florida; stepdaughter, Joan (Gary) Martin, Stevens Point; two stepsons, Bruce (Mary Lou) Lambrecht, Wausau, and Gary (Linda) Lambrecht, Rothschild; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Leslie was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Alice; second wife, Luella; four brothers; three sisters; and an infant daughter.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 27, 2004, at St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, Marathon. The Rev. Jon Hadler will officiate. Burial will be in Rib Falls Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral, Marathon, and again Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Marathon funeral home.
