I am decended from William Thornton who was born in early 1700's in Westmoreland Co., VA and later moved to Lunenburg Co., VA and met and married a Sarah ARVIN. They later moved to Surry Co., NC where they had 11 children. One of the names of the children was James ARVIN THORNTON who lived in Jefferson Co., TN in early 1820's until his death which I need to look up.
