I just discovered she passed 9 months ago. That has put me in a very sad state of mind. If your mother's name is Kathleen Louise Piersant, then we are related. I am your aunt. My family and I have not ever been really close as I'm sure your mother will tell you. I decided to start researching my ancestry when I found out about my mother.
