Thank you so much for your reply!
I don't know very much about my grandfather and I don't think my dad (Jessie Lee Ary) does either. Jesse W. married my g-ma they had 3 kids, Jessie, Kenneth and Patsy then right after divorced. Then Jesse W. dropped out of there lives. www.1odcr.com under the search name Jesse W. Ary shows my grandparents marriage license. G-ma is T. McDaniel. And nothing more. Then g-ma married Patrick Buffalohead I think in California. Dad was born in Oklahoma but grew up in California where I was born. We moved to OK about 10 years ago. I hear we have family in OK but nobody has found any. My uncle Kenneth searched and found nothing. Dad said he is deceased now but I don't even now how he found that out. Here is my e-mail, cgasher@sstelco.com, in case you have more ?'s or find anything. Thank you again.
Tanya Ary-Asher

I am so excited as they are my missing link. Obediah R. and Nancy H. Johnston lived in Shelby County, AL. Their son, Wylie T, Johnson, entered the Civil Was in the Union with the First Regiment of the Alabama Calvery. (BAD) He was discharged in Atlanta after Sherman burned it down. Wylie began a long walk, on foot, searching his way back home. He got lost in Pendley Creek area on the backside of Frozen Hollow (which is where my grandmother was from). He appeared at the home of George and Elizabeth Arey early in 1865. He was in poor health, barefoot, with badly damaged feet. The Arey family took him in and nursed him back to health. He later married their daughter, Sophia, and started the long line of Johnstons in the Mountain. My grandmother is of this lineage. I need to connect the dots. Can you help me? I am so delighted to know that you exist. Do you have any registrations on their births, death, Bible records, or anything to verify their marriage and history. Thank you, Evelyn Levine

Just found obit for grandfather Thomas Jefferson DANLEY and discovered that the only sibling surviving him at time of his death, Nov. 29, 1945, was one sister, Mrs. Mary Ary, Age 96, Springfield, Mo. I only have her as Mary E. in my database and no marriage info. Would gladly share my DANLEYs for your ARYs. I'm trying to clear up some questions with regard to mother's surname to tie to other DANLEYs. Any info you might have on Mary Emaline's ancestry would be appreciated.

While searching for another Mary E. ARY I found Daniel F. ARY, age 81and Mary E.ARY, age 76 in the 1930 U.S. Federal Census • Missouri • Oregon • Oakgrove • District 14 with Sarah Crass - Sister, age 78. ARY is a new surname for me and I have no info. They also appear to be in 1920 Census where she is recorded as Elizabeth. You might try earlier census data for descendant names.

Carrie, I am very interested in your Aery [all spellings] family postings. My grandmother was born Trixie Aery. She was born in Carroll Co. Ar. to John Alexander Aery and his 2nd wife Susan Catherine [Ferguson] Aery. They married Oct. 23, 1881 and Trixie was born Sept. 23, 1882. I need to learn more about them. Did they have another children. I have learned that Trixie was appointed a guardian by the name of Albert Jackson Edmonson in [1897] I think. I know that Trixie was living with them at the time of the 1900 census. She was 17 at the time. I need all the help anyone can come up with. Surely there is still some of the later family still around that knows about this marriage. Thank you in advance. Charlotte Seikel

It is always great to meet another relative interested in the family history. I have done some research on my own but most of what I have comes from other family history enthusiasts who have shared their hard work. I would be happy to share anything that I have or help you make contact with others that might be able to help you better. As of late, I don't have the time I would like to have to do this. I'm working 60-80 hour weeks plus trying to build my homestead so my family research is pretty much on hold for a while. I can answer short specific questions but my filing is so behind that I can't give you anything reliable in one large lump.

RE:Grandmother named Ruby.......

Hello Janet. My name is Helen Miller. I just hooked up with ancestry.com today. I came across a short message on a board that mentioned your grandmother's name is Ruby. My mother's name is Ruby. I just discovered she passed 9 months ago. That has put me in a very sad state of mind. If your mother's name is Kathleen Louise Piersant, then we are related. I am your aunt. My family and I have not ever been really close as I'm sure your mother will tell you. I decided to start researching my ancestry when I found out about my mother. A friend of mine hooked up with ancestry.com so I could do some checking around. I came across all kinds of info I never knew. This e-mail address is hers not mine. If you indeed are related to me, and you, or anyone in the family wants to contact me, this is my e-mail address: Cherrywop2004@yahoo.com. I have been on the computer since about 9:30 this morning and it is now going on 2:30pm. What a trip. I am looking forward to hearing from you or anyone. Thanks.

Dan, I've been following the messages on the Ary line. I can't find a real connection to anyone posting messages. L.P. Posted a message about Ary's of Greene Co. Ohio or the Ary's or Rochingham Co. VA. I'm with the Ohio group. My husband is the Ary line. I can get back to the 1830 Ohio Census with a William (SR) Ary b. 1799. I don't know who is father is yet. My William had sons William, John (me), and Joseph. John had sons Joseph, George and Granville. George has sons Raymond (me) Homer and Howard and possibly a Guy who was living with a Faulkner family as a farm laborer in 1900. Raymond had 2 sons Eldo S. and Lloyd Kenneth and 2 daughters Gladys and Violet Gertrude (my husbands birth mother).

At this point..before I lose you I'd love to have a copy of the homestead in case it someday does become ours!

Thanks, Bev Webb
cinnamon38@earthlink.net

I don't know where he fits in but my husbands line in the same area 1900 has Raymond age 15 with younger sibs Estle, Gladys, Homer and Howard. Their father George B. had a sister (one of 6 girls born to John and Evaline Ary) who was names Edith. They are on the 1860 Ohio Census along with George and his older brother Joseph. Granville was born in 1863. He is on the 1880 census bwith just his parents John and Evaline still in Ceasar Creek.

In 1910 Ohio Census, Butler twp, Darke Co. Has Raymond D., with wife Nora M. (Lawrence) Ary, Sons Eldo S. and Lloyd K. (Kennith) and daughter, Violet G (Gertrude) age 4 months (my husbands birth mother) Gladys was born in MT in 1915 and Nora died in 1917/18 possibly in the flu epidemic.

In 1920 Gladys and Kenneth are living with Nora's mothrer and uncles. Eldo is living with Henry Thomas and Estella who is probably his aunt..Nora's sister.

Does this connect? Only Darke Co.
I'm interested in the Ary line that is in Ohio. My husband's mother was Violet Gertrude Ary b. 1909. Her father was Raymond Ary,b.1885, son of George B. b. 1857, and Elizabeth Ary b. 1859. Younger sibs of Raymond were Estle b.1888, Gladys b.1891, Homer B.1894 and Howard b. 1897 (per 1900 Census for Ceasar Creek twp, Green Co, OH. 1860 Census, same twp.,George's father was John Ary b. 1822, Mother Evaline b. 1824 Sibs, Louisa 1843/44, Edith b. 1845, Lydia b.1847, Joseph b.1850, Sarah b. 1853, Harriett b. 1854/55, George, and last Laura b.1859. On the 1870 census Granville was b. 1863. The 1830 OH Census lists a William Ary b. 1799. This could be William Sr. as the 1850 Census lists 4 families..
William (Jr.?) age 37 with two kids Joel and Sarah. John (my John)age 28 with 4 kids - Louisa, Edith, Lydia, Joseph. Joseph age 33 with one son. And last Margaret who is 25 and single.

If any of this connects with anyone, please contact me on this board AND PLEASE at my e-mail address cinnamon38@earthlink.net
