Hola Familia Arzuaga!

My name is Christopher Arcadio Martinez from Jersey City New Jersey. I was born in 1973 with the name Arcadio Martinez, in Caguas Puerto Rico. My nickname and the name used by my family for me is "Junito". I am the eldest son of the late Arcadio Martinez Arzuaga who passed away June 28th 2006. He was the son of Dolores "Lola" Arzuaga Pagan and Arcadio Martinez Gomez who passed away in 1997. Me and my two brothers Joey and Javi grew up in Vega Baja. My father's cousin is Hilda, Fela's daughter who I last saw at my father's funeral. As a child I do remember going with grandma Lola to Julito's house in PR. It was a beautiful house, and as far as I remember, he had a garden spelling his name. It was amazing! He was a singer wasn't he? I had no idea he passed away, i am so sorry! If it's the same Julito I remember. God bless you all - Junito

Looking for relatives whom might be related.
I know the Arzuaga surname originated in an
area of Spain (possibly Vizcaya and/or Arsuaga). If anyone has any information pertinent to this, please e-mail me at the above e-mail address ASAP. If you are of the Arzuaga surname, then also send e-mail. I am of the Arzuaga's in Puerto Rico but they were also known to migrate to the USA.

En Paz Descanse

Hola a todos los Arzuagas.
I've read all of your postings and it seems to me that almost all, if not all are related.
On September 7, 2003, my father Domingo Arzuaga Pagan past away. I know that it is really late for the posting, but as my cousin Maria Elena mentioned in her post, better late than never.

It was really hard for me to see the only father figure I've ever known to leave us behind. Especially since I had not seen him for about a year before his passing. For those of you that did not know him, he was a funny guy, hard worker, a loving husband and a caring father. He taught me how to be a man and indirectly how to be independent. He cooked, cleaned, did yard work, went to church and put up with me. I wasn't the best son to be proud of, but he sure was the best dad to be proud of.
It was amazing to see how many people actually showed up at his wake and funeral. It was great to see how many family members came through also. It really meant alot for us. My father was loved by many. Tio Julito (Chu) sang "Mi Querido Viejo" and it brought tears to my eyes. It still does.
Papi, I know you are well next to God. I was hard headed at times and gave you plenty of hard times, but I want you to know that I love you. Thank you mi viejo pinto. Thanks to you I have become the man I am now. God Bless You y que en paz descanses. Bendicion.

I've noticed that my aunt Hilda beat me to this, Hi TITI!! Anyway, responding to Milagros, we are family. My grandfather(father by adoption) is Julito Arzuaga's older brother. His name is Domingo Arzuaga Pagan. I was lucky enough to find one of my uncle's records. I believe he is still in Texas. We have some family in Chicago, but alot more in Puerto Rico ,especially in the town of Juncos . My father has alot of cousins & other family in the "barrio" of Valenciano in this town . I've met alot of them when I lived in P.R , but I don't remember their names. If you have new info or have any questions , please contact me at my e-mail address at razasata@hotmail.com.Hasta luego.

Hello to everybody!

First of all I would like to tell you that your last name comes from the spanish basque side. It`s a "toponimic" name, it means "the place were there are a lot of stones" in basque. Probably most of you knew this, but just in case.
