All of the Castellammarese Asaros originally came from Mazara del Vallo, but moved to Castellammare del Golfo around the 1600s.

There are over a hundred Asaros living in Mazara today, and a few dozen in Castellammare.

So there's definitely a relation, but you'd have to go back about 400 years.
