I discovered a James Asay, son of John Asay, iin the 1850 Maryland census under name of John Acoy. If you look at the census image, the name was spelled Acey not Acoy. John was listed as a Methodist Minister. The 1840 Delaware census lists a John A. Asay also a Methodist Minister. I also obtained other information on James family including wife and children. If you send me your email address I can send it to use as an attachment. Let me know.
