Classification: Query
Sarah Asbury was the daughter of William Asbury and Jane Unknown. (Some people say it is Jean Ankerum, but I have no proof)
After William Asbury of Fauquier County, VA died (around 1793), the widow Jane Asbury and half the children moved to Harrison County, (W) VA and the other half of the children moved to KY.
Below is a chancery case that involves two twin slaves originally owned by Jane Asbury where some folks sue the Asbury’s over the ownership. I just included the pertinent genealogy info.
Harrison County, WV Courthouse, Clarksburg, WV, Circuit Court
Chancery Case #75-17, Henry Asberry
Signed and witnessed on Oct 20, 1818
……That Jane Asberry late of Harrison County was the widow relict and administratrix of William Asberry deceased and that Henry Asbury, George Asberry, William Asberry, Thomas Asberry, Joseph Asberry, John Asberry (who is now dead), Nancy Hitchcock (the wife of William Hitchcock), Mary Lake (who is now dead leaving William Lake her husband surviving), Hannah Dawson, and Sarah Parker (wife of Benjamin Parker) were the only children of the said William Asberry deceased and survived him at the time of his death……..
Other related items:
Jnae Asbury died around 1816.
I am related to Thomas Asbury that was married to Elizabeth Bartlett and he died around 1824.
Question - do you know if any of the Parker descendants ended up in Missouri
