I was born in 1970 in Surrey. My father,
Alan James Asbridge grew up in BlackHeath london
His father Harry Asbridge died a few years ago and
had a brother Fred Asbridge.
I am interested in any connections that you might have
to these relatives. I also know that one of
my grandfather's predecessors fought in the
American civil war in the 1860's so there may well be
an american connection.
I am also interested in any information on the
origin of our name - what does it mean? Is it a
shortened version of Ash bridge for example? Or is
it from Ass(the four legged kind not the rude kind) or Asp
as in the snake?!
