I am searching the name Asel in Sigel, Pa. I am looking for the parents of my Claude Forsythe. His father was James Clifton Asel and his mother was Myrtle Forsythe. This is according to Claude's SS Application. Forsythe was his mothers maiden name. I do not know if James and Myrtle married or not and why Claude took his mothers maiden name. I am not for sure if James was indeed Claude's biological father. Anyone with any info would be appreciated. My e-mail is glo4sythe@yahoo.com

My grandmother was born Asel. She was born in the Kaiserslautern region of Germany, which is in Rheinland-Pfalz.

I have a Charles Asel on my list. he is the son of Harry & Myrtle ( Kroh) Asel. Not sure where they are from. Does this help. I live about an hour from Sigel, and will be traveling there sometime when weather breaks to check on Asel family, also on the name Craft.

Anyway, I found a name and a date from a relative:

Reinhold Asel, age 32 amoung the Palatines aboard the ship "MARY" to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 26SEP 1732.
He was was named as a member of the "Tulpehocken Church" 1743-1746.
Im told that he variously spelled his name Ezle, Ysel and ASEL) kingdavid@carolina.rr.com

My maternal grand-mother was Lillian Asel from Jefferson City, Missouri in the USA. She married Henry Backers. Some of her relatives still live in Jefferson City. I have more info but have to find it! Are there any any Jewish Asels ? My mother thought part of that side of the family was Jewish & wanted to know more about her heritage.

I am seeking information on the family of and children of Durl Asel (5 May 1912-February 1980). He lived in Johnstown, PA and married Velma Stutzman (11 January 1917-6 June 1955). Durl died in Florida.

The Asel family is all over P.A., includeing Johnstown. My father & grandfather are dead & my dad was from a broken home. Sorry I can't help you. My dad was in the U.S. Airforce and I grew up in California, I dont know my east coast "P.A." or up state NY family.

I am attempting to put together a geneology family tree. My father was James Arnold Asel born in PA, USA in the 1940's on new years day. His dad was Raymond (Buss) Asel who marrried Sara Catharine Haines from Williamsport, PA. Raymond & Sara-Catharine Asel's children in order of birth was James Asel, Don Asel, John (Jack) Asel, Molly Asel & Sue (Suzy) Asel. They lived mostly in the Williamsport, Pennsylvania, USA area. Any help from anybody from the USA, Germany or any country for that matter would be great.

Asel is a German family name, comes from the German / French border.

my husband was born in germany. he emigrated to australia in l954. 3 of his grandfathers brothers went to america before l863. His grandfather was heinrich, asel, born in duchroth,pfalz. if you would like furthur imformation, email the address above. also 3 uncles went to america about the time my grandfather was born. l863.
