Just wondering if you're still working on Joesph ASH and if you've made any progress? I was able to check out the census mentioned in our previous e-mail but no luck on identifing that particular Joseph ASH as the father of my gr-gf Mansfield ASH. I did not find him listed in either Keokuk Co., or Washington Co. (IOWA) for the 1850 Fed or state census. My thoughts are now going along the path of perhaps Joseph brought Mansfield to Iowa just for the marriage and then returned to his home, but then on the census it lists Iowa as the birthplace of Mansfield ... so go figure.
