I am doing a lot of research in the archives of the State of Iowa ( I live in Des Moines ). Yesterday, while gathering information to go on a cemetery search in Easter Iowa, I came upon a LOT of Ash information. For anyone that can use it, I will post what I found here:

Edie (male) Ash age 5, died 8/22/1881 of typhoid

Fayette County,Iowa - West Union Cemetery - West Union, Iowa
Edwin Ash b. 1822 d. 12/29/1896 his autobiography, which I found in the same book along with a picture of Edwin, says he was descended from the " 3 original Ash brothers" who came to the US together from Germany. He says he is descended from John Ash.
His wife, ?, died 11/14/1887 at age 57 is next to him.
Eliza Ann Ash, b. 1822 died 3/25/1895 (buried lot 8)
Elzoriah E Ash 1868 to 6/20/1898 (lot 1 )
Henry W. Ash 1851 to 12/14/1894 ( lot 1 )
LaFayette P. Ash 1850 - 1893 ( lot 5)
W. Harvey Ash died 1883 at age 25 ( lot 8)
William Ash 1819 to 5/19/1899 (lot 8 )

I can't tell you if the Ash's in these two counties were related. I can tell you that Edwin was educated in Indiana according to his story. If anyone has questions they would like me to check out the next time I go to do research, or while I am visiting these cemeteries, please get them to me before Sept. 8th.
