Looking for any information on a Peter Ash or wife Meraline. Both born in French Canada approx 1840 (Peter), 1835 (Meraline). Peter/Meraline had 5 children - Elmer, Henry, Flora, Norman and William. Emigrated from French Canada to VT around 1850-1860'ish, then to Ticonderoga NY. I have them in 1880 census in Ticonderoga, NY. Family rumor is that they were Dufresne in Canada and when moved to US changed to Ash(e). Peter is my GGF.. Thanks for any info in advance.
