Trying to find out some background information on 2 Ashers.

Joseph Asher is living in Nottingham, England on the 1851 census & is said to have been born in Pakington, Leicestershire around 1797 & to have married Margaret Sykes at St Marys Church, Nottingham in 1821. Have been through the Pakington records, but can't find any record of his birth/baptism.

James Asher/Hasser married Elizabeth Gamble of Rushden, Northamptonshire, England in 1821 at Clipston, Northamptonshire.


I'm trying to establish whether Joseph & James are related to each other &/or if they're related to Lyon Asher, who, according to the 1851 census, was born in Germany in 1786/88, but who was living in Nottingham in 1821 (& probably earlier) In Nottingham, he was living just around the corner from Joseph & Lyon's wife was Betsy ????, born in Titchmarsh, Northamptonshire.. They may have been Jewish.
