If other people's research is right, I'm a descendant of Rebecca Ashton (1672-1725) and David Stout (1667-1733?), who lived in Hunterdon County, New Jersey.

I have that Rebecca's parents were James Ashton and Deliverance Throckmorton, and noticed that some people claim James was born in Providence, Rhode Island in 1639, other people claim he was born in New Jersey. Since New Jersey was (mostly) part of the Dutch colony in 1639, I'd suspect that it's Rhode Island and not New Jersey.

Who were James Ashton's parents, and when did they immigrate to the New World?
