William Wesley Ashworth

I am looking for the WW1 draft card of William Wesley Ashworth. Born Jan. 5, 1875
The county of Residence would be Parker County, Texas in the city of Weatherford, Texas.

If anyone has any information or can look this information up I would greatly appreciate it. This side of my family has become a brick wall and this has the potential to shed some light.

Thanks again

-Kathleen
hearnbk@yahoo.com
Annie Ashworth High Island, Galveston County, Tx

There is a grave for Annie Ashworth died 1897 age 70 years in the High Island Cemetery near Charles Cronea's grave. Several people assume is it Charles' daughter Annie Elizabeth Cronea, but she was born 8-18-1848 Jefferson County, Texas, so it cannot be her. Does anyone have any idea who this Annie Ashworth is? Also I have seen where other people posted a marriage between Annie Cronea and Aaron Ashworth, does anyone have any information on this?
Thank you

Hi I seen your post. I don't know if it will connect or not but my Ashworth lineage was in Hamlin at one point. My Granny was Beulah Azalea Ashworth (1910-1993) and she was married to Floyd Otmer Grass (1909-1967). I still have family living in the area of Hamlin, West Hamlin, or Branchland (it wasn't called that then but is now apparently, I don't know for sure because I never really lived there and only know about it because of their addresses and maps lol). Anyhow if you recognize these names particularly Azalea Ashworth maybe we can share info. Thx for reading.

Hi Stephanie
Annie Ashworth nee Maude was my grandmother's sister. My grandmother was Bessie Maude, daughter of Alfred & Jane Maude she married John Cann in 1903. I have a photo of Ronald Ashworth taken I think in New York in 1926. My father always thought he disappeared or was murdered in the USA. I also have a photo of Harold with a camel in the background not sure of date.
I am also stuck at the Richard Ashworth & Harriet Wrigley birth of Richard Wrigley in 1818 Manchester. Do you have any other information on them? If you would like to see the photos I can send them to you?

Some info on early SC. If one were to attempt to determine which of the current South Carolina counties are actually situated within the last incarnation of Craven County prior to its elimination in 1768, the best guess would have to include all of: Horry, Georgetown, Williamsburg, Marion, Darlington, Florence, Dillon, Marlboro, Chesterfield, Lee, York, Chester, Fairfield, Richland, Claremont, Kershaw, and Lancaster counties. (Thanks go out to Mr. Frank Boggs for helping me to re-clarify this in June of 2010). , from
http://www.carolana.com/SC/Counties/craven_county_original.h...

I will try to get to that tomorrow. I do not spend all my time on Genealogy, I do have other projects to work on. For one thing, if the house isn't clean when the hubby comes home, he makes remarks like, you spent all day on that darn computer, didn't you?
Carol

I am also related to Jason Ashworth and Lucinda, I never found her last name thank you. Jasons neighbor was Howe with a daughter Melissa. Seems like while Charles Jason Ashworth (my great grandfather)was visiting his grandpa Jason he fell in love with his next door neighbor Melissa Howe and married her. Charles was son of Phillip Ashworth and Levina Jane Friend. They had my grandmother Isabelle L Ashworth
Jason Ashworth and Lucinda P Gidcomb (do u have her parents)
Phillip Ashworth and Levina Jane Friend
Charles Jason Ashworth and Melissa Catherine Howe
Isabelle L Ashworth and Orvil Clinton Bronson..my grandparents. They were 11 and 12 on the census I saw showing them as neighbors, with Howe so he knew her for a while.

We are related. Let's just say "cousins. Nancy "Ann" was an herbalist. Her world view was probably very close to what we would call modern day Wicca. She believed that the forces of nature aligned with the power of human will, could affect outcomes. She had many "cures" and was actively sought out by the community in an age whrere physicians and pharmacies did not exist. The stables you speak of are part of Drover's Grove, the mini-development the current residents of the orignal Ashworth homestead have preserved. John, Jr. built a home around ca 1830, sold it to a Sherril who converted it into a famous inn. Sherril sold to the descendants of the current family. Hasn't changed hands much in close to 180 years The family there is very interested and supportive of any Ashworth researchers. You can Ggoogle Drover's Grove and find their e-mail. Many of the residential streets are named after prominent Ashworth's in this residential preserve.

Parts of the original rockwork chimney built by John, Jr have been incorporated into the architecture of the main house.

I too am related to John Ashworth and Nancy Wood, John Ashworth Jr and Celia Nettles, Jason Ashworth and Lucinda, Phillip Ashworth and Levina Jane Friend, Charles Jason Ashworth and Mellisa Catherine Howe, their daughter was my Grandmother Isabelle Ashworth born in Missouri. We went from NC to Missouri, Grandparents moved to So Cal where I still am. Some of the Nettles went to SC where Jennifer Nettles in Sugarland is from. Wonder if we are related. I read Nancy Wood was a homopathic female doctor. Some say a witch, others made her sound important. There is an Ashworth cemetry and Ashworth river in Fairview. I also heard horseback riding stable. s.bronson@sbcglobal.net

I too am descended from John Ashworth and Nancy Wood. Their son John Jr or Johnson, Jackson, or any other of the multiple names others have attached to him is my 4th great Grandfather. I loved reading all the replies or connections to your message. Most of the messages on this forum about them were dated back several years. Has anyone come up with a paper trail? My maternal Grandmother was an Ashworth born in Kansas. She married a Warburton which is another English name. The Warburtons, or the line of Warburtons I am descended from, came from Pennsylvania, after coming to America. Does anyone have any new ideas? Thanks Carol

Joseph Ashworth married Doris Stevens in 1935 in Framingham, MA. In a much earlier post I stated he was born about 1908 but it was probably about 1898 as on checking my notes I see they say he was 20 years older than my mother. He had a younger brother, James who married a Marge Crimmins and he had 2 or 3 sisters. That is the extent of what I know about my birth father. Would appreciate any info. lef1956@roadrunner.com

Thanks for the help.
Unfortunately, at first glance, this "Ashworth Branches" does not appear to be the same Ashworth line. My Benjamin Ashworth and Sarah (Lawrence?) fathered Jonathan Ashworth b. 1799 in Georgia (my line). Benjamin was probably born about 1750-60 and fought in the Revolutionary War and was granted land in Georgia.

Sorry to be replying to your message on here but I do not have an Ancestry.com account so I could not respond any other way. I have not found any of those family names in my records however that does not mean that my family did not come from them. I am in the US and every family member of mine that has been researching have lived here as well so our information gets very limited once we get a couple generations into England. I have found information that shows that my ancestor Ralph Ashworth was born in Rochdale. He was married at St Mary's Prestwich Church in Oldham on August 28,1842. If any of this information helps or if you have any questions please email me at courtneydpotter@gmail.com.
