It would appear that Harriet was one of 5 children born to William Askey of Hixon who was a coachman on either the Harrowby or Hatherton estates.

William was my great grandfathers brother.

The names Harriet, William and Elizabeth feature at very regular intervals throughout the Askey family tree.
