My great grand fathe, Samuel Perkin married Harriett Askey in 1882 at Stone Staffordshire, but she had a sone, Joe(Joseph)Askey/Perkin(?) who was 'moved' to NZm then went to Kapuskasing, Ontario. Joe died unmarried(as far as I know) in 1973. I was going to meet him for the first time after my graduation, but he got to the pearly gates before I could meet him!

According t Kelly's Directory of Staffordshire(1932) Herbert Askey was foreman of the Estate works for the Earl of Harrowby. I suspect the Earl of Harrowby paid for Joe to be educated(banished!) to NZ
