No, her husband was Johan Eriksen Aspen (d. 1/4/1892 age 49)Kristiansund. Maridt was originally from Visdal, Tægen Gard, Næsset, Romsdal, Norway. Prior to her arrival in Sioux City July 1893 with her 4 youngest children (ages 2 9 11 13). Two other sons came to SC in 1891 and 1893 a few mos. earlier than the family. Both older sons were 17 at the time they arrived.

Hi I am looking to talk with ANY Aspen out there. We have such an uncommon last name and I have been having a hard time finding other Aspens. I posted to this board back in 2000 and still no luck. So if you are an Aspen and would like to talk please respond. Maybe we can help each other out. Who knows maybe we are related somehow and don't know it yet. It is worth a shot!

Searching for family members: From Kristiansund, Norway to Iowa - mother Marit b. ~1847, sons Edward b. ~1874 (moved on to Bakersfield area, CA), Peter (moved on to Hartington, NE) & John (b. ~1884), dtrs: Anna, Martha, Inga -- all emigrated to US 1893 except Edvard who came in 1891. John was my grandfather.

I found the name of my great, great aunt in my mother's papers, Nellie Reynolds Aspin. She would be the sister of George Reynolds of Manchester? England, later Roscommon, Ireland. I think she lived in the United States.
