Hello my name is Carmen Piper,I am looking for any information on a josephte(Josette)Assiniboine (Adhemar)b. 1790 d. 2/10/1852 at Pembina ND, who was married to Joseph Fafard dit Laframboise (my 3xgreat grandparents), son of Alexis Fafard dit Laframboise and Marguerite (Saulteaux). Joseph and Josephte had two daughters (Marguerite Laframboise m.Jean Baptiste Dumont and Louise Laframboise m. Isadore"Ekapow" Dumont). Louis GODON and Louise (Assiniboine Indian) were my 6th Grands....daughter Josephte GODON was born ca. 1819 as follows:
Ancient Register 1825-1834 St. Boniface Baptism Records, 11 Sept. 1825, age about 6 years old, daughter of Louis Godon and Louise Assiniboine, Godfather Benjamin Marchand and Godmother Josephte Marleau, priest: Jn Harper (page 10).

Recent information received states that John White Hawk was born in Montana in 1870. His Army enlistment papers state Standing Rock as his birthplace but apparently that is wrong. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

EVENLYN the assinboin indians are at FT BELKNAP in the state of montana, they should have a web site, go to montana and yhen write in american indian reservations, and you shoud come up with it. if you have a trouble you can contact me at (rsmith32@bak.rr.com) some of my family is from there.

Greetings. There were at least three men named "Jean Baptiste Marcellais". The father of Pierre was the one married to Marie Wilkie, daughter of Alexander Wilkie and an Indian woman (b. abt 1810). Therese Constant, whom he married in The Pas in 1863, was his second wife.

Greetings, Kathy. There is virtually no way of tracing back any further for Angelique. In the sexism and racism of the day, she was simply "Angelique", an Assiniboine woman. There were other children, however, besides Marie (who, you probably know) married Jacques Jacob Ouellette, son of Joseph and another Indian woman named "Angelique". The other children are Louison b. 1805 in what later became the Red River Settlement; Archange (b. abt 1816 Pembina) who married Antoine Plouf dit Villebrun, son of Louis and Marie Anne Collet; and Jean Marcellais (b. 1 Nov 1820).

If you have any further information to share back, it would be much appreciated.

Apparantly, my great g,g,g,g grandmother is Josephte Assiniboine born 1780 died 1863. I'm looking for any information to her lineage or heritage. According to my records she was married to Joseph Lafromboise. Any help from anyone would really be appreciated.

I am trying to locate a Sioux man, at least I believe he is Sioux. I knew him 29yrs ago, by the name of Edward Arthur-Sebastian- Last name I do not have the proper spelling.I am looking for him for his son Desok, and grandson Wehinahpay.
His was 21-23 years ago when I knew him in San Diego,Ca.
Any information on how to find him would make my son and
grandson very happy. I tried to teach my son as much as I could about his native history. But his father would be much
better at this. He has a great looking son (looks just like him)

Hi,
Well my grangfather's name was Freeman Louis Belgarde, his dad was Albert Toby Belgarde, and his father was Freeman Belgarde and his father was Gilbert Belgarde.
Freeman Louis tribe #571 had a brother named John-DOB2-1-1916,DODwas 5-18-1965.Do you know these names or is this the right or wrong family??

I too am looking for further information on this woman. She is a 7th generation grandmother to me. As a previous poster pointed out, she married Jean-Baptiste Marcellais at St. Boniface in 1819 and had a daughter, that I know of, named Marie who was born 11-01-1794 and married a Jacques Ouellet(whom I'd like more info about also) who was born in 1793 in the NWT.

If anyone has any further info on Angelique as to her heritage and her husband as well I'd appreciate it.

My records show Pierre Marcellais married Therese Constant and had Eliza 1862,
Marie1866,Louis 1867,Susette(Fosette)1870, Baptiste 1873, Lisette married 1892.
I need to know if Pierre is Angelique's grandson from either Louison,Marie,Jean Baptiste or Louise. please help. Robert Marcellais.
