I am looking for any family of my grandmother Jozefa Atalska (b 1887)who immigrated from Poland ca. 1905 and married John Banovich from Lithuania. They lived in Pennsylvania before moving to Detroit, Michigan.
In my search, I have found the name Atalski to be misspelled as Hatalski, Satalski, and Stalski.
Grandmother Jozefa's parents were Anna and Franciszek Atalski, and the siblings I know of are Mary, Catherine, Caroline, Julia, and Ludwiga (Harriet), not necessarily in that order. It is likely that Franc and Anna also had siblings that joined in immigration, but do not know any names.
Information so far shows Franc immigrated first and worked in the mines of Pennsylvania. Anna came later with several of her daughters.
Of these siblings, I am told Mary had a daughter Christina. Catherine married unknown Hamryski and had daughter Helen. Caroline married Stanley Kerchinski (Kerchin), and had four daughters and four sons. Julia married Andrew Piotrowski and had two daughers and two sons. Harriet (Hattie) married Jack Celona. There are no known male siblings.
I am familiar with this Piotrowski family, and have limited info on the Kerchin family. So many women, and so few male names!
I would like to fill in the gaps, as well as additional information on Anna and Franciszek Atalski. It is possible that Anna's maiden name was Konik, brother to Julian Konik.
