Surnames: Athearn, Tolman/Tallman
Prudence Tolman (Indian, born 1786, Gay Head, MA) was given away by her mother,
Sarah (Paul) Tallman/Talman/Tolman, when she was five or six years old, to a
"white family", named "Athearn/Athern" of Gay Head, MA. The family later moved,
taking her with them, to Farmington Twp., then in the County of Kennebec (now Town
of Farmington, Franklin Co.) Maine (no date but before July 21,1808, when she married
in Wilton, Maine.) Sarah (Paul) Tallman/Talman/Tolman married Joshua Johnson abt
1795.

Prudence Tolman's "binding out" document may be in the family records of this
Athearn/Athern family.
