Good morning,

You may be interested to know that many Greek families in America have taken the name Athens as a surname. They shortened their Greek surnames and found Athens perfect because of the historical links. Thus in my own family, Athanasoulas became Athens in Chicago. Athanaseides, Athanakos, Thanasoulas, Athanasios, all of these used the same formula
