I am looking for any info on Caroline Matilda Atkins. She was born in OH in 1828. She married Sylvester Wilcox and had children with him, all in Ohio. I would love to find more info on her and her family. I have not found any yet. I can't afford an Ancestry membership so cannot look here. I have looked at the free sites, but have come up blank.

Susan Atkins, Age,61 ,California,
LOS ANGELES ,
Susan Atkins, died. She was 61
and had been suffering from brain cancer.

Atkins' death comes less than a month after a parole board turned down the terminally ill woman's last chance at freedom on Sept. 2. She was brought to the hearing on a gurney and slept through most of it.

Department of Corrections spokeswoman Terry Thornton said that Atkins died late Thursday night. She had been diagnosed with brain cancer in 2008, had a leg amputated and was given only a few months to live.

She underwent brain surgery, and in her last months was paralyzed and had difficulty speaking. But she managed to speak briefly at the Sept. 2 hearing, reciting religious verse with the help of her husband, attorney James Whitehouse.

She had been transferred to a skilled nursing facility at the California Central Women's Facility at Chowchilla exactly one year before she died.

Atkins, who confessed from the witness stand during her trial, had apologized for her acts numerous times over the years. But 40 years after few had forgotten or forgiven what she and other members of the cult had done.

LOS ANGELES ,News,
September, 26,2009,

Franklin Pierce Atkins, b. abt 1860

I have an original wedding photograph affixed to a card indicating the “50th Anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Pierce Atkins – 1880-1930”, which I’d like to get back to descendants or family members. The wedding photo shows each of them looks to be in their 20s.

I found a Frank Atkins, with a birthdate of Jul 1861, in the 1900 census for Havana (Mason Co.) IL, showing he and wife Sarah J. had been married 13 years = 1997, so this is not likely the same couple as in the photo….except that a “Franklin P. Atkins”, and his wife Sarah J. lived in 1910 and 1920 in Peoria (Peoria Co.) IL. Children were Clyde and Otho.

Get back to me at margerice@prodigy.net if you are related to Franklin P. Atkins

Re: atkins, burnelle, mulrean

I'm interested in this posting, looking for more information about my Mulrean family and where in Ireland they came from and where they landed, etc. I have scant knowledge, and no information about using the name Mulraney. Matthew (or Mathew) Mulrean was married to Mary. He was born in Ireland circa 1819 and oral info I have says he came to the US abt. 1846, never became a naturalized citizen. His son William (middle initial T.) was born in Massachusetts. They came to Minnesota (if this is the same family, you have more information).
Matthew Mulrean died 13 July 1901 at age 82; Mary died 17 May 1895 at age 84. They and three sons are buried in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery, Dayton (Hennepin Co.), Minnesota. Two of their sons are also buried there (all 4 on the same marble grave marker): Micheal (note this spelling) died 2 Oct 1866 at age 17, and James died 5 Oct 1877 at age 23.
Next to them are buried son William T. Mulrean, dates on marker are 1859 + 1932 and his wife Sarah Hynes Mulrean 1860 + 1949. (Sarah was born in Minnesota.)
Is it possible there is a connection?
