Obit: Carol (Atwater) Iverson of Nebraska (1944-2009)

Carol Rae Atwater, daughter of Melvin and Mildred (Whiting) Atwater was born June 6, 1944 at Norfolk, NE. She was baptized and was a member of the First Baptist Church, attended School District #2 through the 7th grade, continued Jr. High at Albion Public School and graduated from Albion High School with the class of 1962.
On January 13, 1963, Carol was united in marriage to Lynn Iverson at the United Methodist Church in Albion. The couple made their home in Albion, until moving to a farm northwest of town in 1973 where they raised their 4 children. Carol was a homemaker and enjoyed teaching piano lessons for over 40 years.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, American Baptist Women’s Group, the Friendship Club and was a pianist at the First Baptist Church of Albion for over 50 years.
Carol is survived by her husband Lynn of Albion; 4 children: Kerri Schlange and husband Bill of Springfield, NE; Kelly Iverson and wife Lori of Albion, NE; David Iverson and wife Angie of Springfield, NE; Mark Iverson and wife Heather of LaVista, NE; 8 grandchildren: Jacob, Katrina and Noah Schlange, Tyler and Taylor Iverson, Emily, Alyssa and Elizabeth Iverson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and infant daughter Evie Nicole.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 12, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Albion with Rev. Blaine Pritchett officiating. Burial will be at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Albion. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Levander Funeral Home in Albion.
