I would like to look at your research. I am a descendant of William Curtis Atwell ca 1840, parents from NY and Conn, apparently lived in Ontario Canada as child and moved to Michigan. He had son, Arthur Bruce Atwell ca 1882 (Mich), grandson Thomas Bruce Atwell ca 1911 (Mich), ggrandson David Lawrence Atwell ca 1940 (Mich).

I think William's father may have been James, but not sure. His wife was Anastasia Ford Moore. There is a strong CofE connection in my family.

Lillie was my great-great-grandmother. Her oldest daughter was my great-grandmother, Neppie Green Campbell. Neppie married Conda Cleveland Wood in Hood County, TX. Her oldest son, Talmage Wood, was my grandfather. My mother, Norma, is his oldest daughter. I live in Beeville, TX, and remember many visits to Tolar, Texas, where Neppie lived. If you will look up David Taylor Campbell, you'll get a list of Lillie and David's 15 children. Look up Hood County, TX, for some information as well.
Vikki Schorlemmer

I have a little info on David Atwell. He was adopted by Onesimus Mead Atwell and Hannah Coakley and raised in Waterville, Oneida, NY. His name was David Jones and was from Wales. I believe he married Belle around 1888. I don't have much on the Atwell family as my research was on the Coakleys, my husband is a descendent of Hannah's sister Catherine. Please contact me and we can exchange info.

Thanks,
Sherry
sgolem@rochester.rr.com
Thomas Atwell of Ishpeming, Michigan in 1891

November 7, 1891 Page 4

The six year old son of Thomas Atwell, of Ishpeming, was killed while playing on a car which was side tracked. He was seated on the brake wheel and the brake was released by a companion, starting the car, which bumped against another, the collision hurling the little fellow from his seat just in time to be caught between the bumpers as the cars rebounded and came together the second time.He was crushed in a terrible manner.

I am not related to this family, just passing on this information which comes from a website called "Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan Newspaper Birth, Marriage and Death Notices." The link for the site is listed below.
Joyce

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/%7Ewjmartin/deat1887...

I am descended from Joseph Atwell b abt 1731 in CT. His son Joseph b 1754 was in Rev.War,married Chloe Pease & came to Pompey Hollow Onondaga Co. in 1792.The Atwell family then moved to Cazenovia, & a later generation moved to Syracuse NY. If you are connected to this line I can probably help you. On the other hand, you may be descended from a Judge Joseph Atwell who was in Watertown NY.
I would like to hear from you.

I have reason to believe that his father's name was Benjamin, but I cannot find any records proving that. Any help that anyone can give me, would be most appreciated. I will also share any data that I have on my Atwell side with those who would like it. Page's son George moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was my father's grandfather.

Beatrix,

Luman and Mary Allen were my husband's GG grandparents too... Luman's son Joe was the father of Harold Allen - who is the father of Richard - father of Steve. We have a lot of information. We found many Allen's buried in the cemetery in Lum, Michigan. Luman's father Alvin died during the Civil War, well just before it ended - there is a very tall monument honoring him in the cemetery also. Luman's son Alfred and his wife Sarah are buried in Lakeville, Michigan. They lived here in the same town as we do – the town historian had a funny story about them. .... and Luman's son Howard also lived here until his death - his son Howard Jr is still here living in the family home. We found several Bentley's buried in Lum also.
I think Philo Allen was Mary’s grandfather… .but it has been a while since I spent time on this – after you hit a few brick walls - you have to take some time off. I find I have more time for this during the winter, lol.!
I may be easier to communicate via email

R.
