I am not related but I'm helping a friend who is. We're looking for information on Bertha Mew Ngan Au, the name that appears on the marriage license for her to Manuel Silva Barros in Honolulu in 1929.

My friend is getting on in years and lives on the Mainland now. She does not have a lot of detail about her parents but would like to know more to pass on to her children.

Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated.

Mahalo.

Kathy
Kailua, HI

Hello! I know your message is old, but I hope you still get this. We are new to Ancestry.com and researching our Au family roots. My father is named John Peter Au and his father was William August Au -- and we were all from/born in New Jersey (Phillipsburg area), so your post makes me think there is a connection between us somehow.

If you get this message, please let me know! Would love to share research! --Linda Mae Au (Parker)

Hi there,

My husband is a direct descendant of Christafur Au.

Let's try to be logical... Christafur was 7 years old when he moved to the United states. Which means he was probably traveling with at least one parent... possibly the mother, who would have a different last name? I would like to see a copy of the original passenger list to see with whom, other than his two brothers, Christafur was traveling..

Any insights?

John AW - 1802-1805; Franklin Co., PA: Blue Dyyer/Coverlet Weaver

In my stash of Au/Aue information, I have again come across pages copied from "Pennsylvania Vital Records" Vol II, "Notices From the Franklin Repository, Chanbersburg, 1802-1805". Dated February 28. - "John Aw informs his friends and the public in general that he intends to commence the Blue Dyeing and Coverlet Weaving at the house of Mr. John Meesey, Shoemaker....." (etc.). Does anyone have this "John AW" in their ancestry? He does not seem to tie in with those AW/Au/Aue families that I and/or my "cousins" are connected to. The article is very interesting as it describes the patterns he weaves. I will gladly mail it to anyone who can use it - too bad he is not mine; a very talented man, would be interesting to see if some of his work still survives.

au from pa to ohio

My great-great-great-grand father Henry and gmother Barbra Ann Stough, moved from Cumberland County, Pa to Ohio. He was probably of Perry County and she of Cumberland. They were married in 1816 in Cumberland County. This is as far back as I have traced to this date. His son Christopher was a captain in the union army from Mansfield, Ohio. Part of Sherman's Brigade, they fought in Mississipi and at Vicksburg. This Au family is of German discent. If you have any informantion or any idea wre I may continue please contact me at aupaw@worldnet.att.net

Au family

I am searching for any relatives of Frederick, Gerick or Christafur Au. I am a direct relation of Christafur. He changed his name to Eye.
These three brothers arrived in Philadelphia on October 23, 1754 on the ship Recovery.
I am trying to trace my family's roots to where they came from in Germany. I am looking for any type of birth records or document that may list where they came from or who their parents are.
I would appreciate any information leading to the answer to these questions.

Thank you for your assistance.
