Hi, thanks for the reply. We've been trying to piece it all together. We don't have a family book; no one seemed to keep any records. Any help that you can give me would be fantastic.
I haven't filled in too much of Peter's family because I wasn't sure of the connection. I found some information from baptismal records from St. Michael's for John Aubert's family, Henry Aubert's family, and a couple of items for Andrew Aubert. I'm also tracking the Auberts in the Chicago City Directories - they're primarily on Larrabee, Orchard, Willow, and Dayton Streets from 1855 on.

It would be great to see any pictures you'd be willing to share with me. My email adress is fntschneider@earthlink.net. Send me an email and I'll give you my address.

Tammy

I found your family tree today, and it has really been helpful to me. I am going to gather all the information I have to fill in some of the information you are missing. I have not put my information on the computer so it will take some time. As I said before in my previous message there are a lot of children. I do have some pictures of the Dahler family and the Aubert family. Fortunately Andrew Aubert was a professional photographer in Chicago. If I knew your address I could just mail you copies. Please be patient and give me time as I am 80 years old and I still work part time. Marilyn

My Peter Aubert was born 18 February 1829 Died 8 April 1896
buried Graceland Cemetery Chicago. Married Maria Dahler b. 25 October 1832 buried Graceland cemetery Chicago. I found Peter Aubert on the passenger list ship Clotilde out of Antwerp. Arrived NY June 3 1852. I only had one page of the passenger list and I don't see any other Auberts. Peter and Maria Aubert had 9 children. One of them August Aubert, my grandfather, married Mary Wagner and they had 15 children, 11 boys 4 girls. My father was Joseph Aubert. Very grateful for your information . If you would like maybe we could exchange other information. Marilyn

Where did you find the information regarding Nicolas and his two wives and the list of children. I see where you found a lot of information on a passenger list. My great, great grandfather was Peter Aubert married to Marie Dahler. All of the information I have I can prove from that point on and I have a lot of it, but I have nothing prior. Would love to hear from you.
Marilyn

John and Mary (Habersetzer) Aubert lived in Chicago from the 1860's until their deaths in 1925 and 1931 respectively (primarily on Dayton Street). Their son, John, was born in Chicago in 1868 and died in Chicago in 1936. Their son, Joseph, was born in Chicago in 1875 and died in Wisconsin in 1945.
John and Mary's granddaughter, Catherine Zenner, married Peter Jung (both lived in Chicago).
I'm trying to verify the link between the Aubert, Lang, and Peck families who lived in Chicago in the latter half of the 19th century.

Hi:
I am really interested in the Aubert lineage. However, I know that the John and Joseph Aubert you have listed I believe are from the Michigan Auberts and are not affiliated with Peter and Maria Dahler. I believe you are also looking for the surname Jung. There is a Dahler family in south central Illinois that has the name Jung listed.
Marilyn

My grandparents were Bernard J Aubert b 09.15.1895 and Marie Pastwa (maident name) b 04.06.1893 d 05.24.1974 Szerlong (1st husband)had a son Walter Szerlong married Bernard 10.22.1927 Aubert. My mother was Lavergne Marie Aubert Weber. (Kenneth Weber was her husband and my father) My mother had one brother who was Howard Aubert. He was married to Catherine McMillan Aubert, they had 2 children Catherine and Howard. According to some old posts by Cathy Gray (Who is my cousin I believe) she has 2 other siblings Paul and John. I did not know about them. I lost touch with my uncle in 1971 when my mother passed away.

Great grandparents (Aubert)
William Aubert 03.1853
Catherine Kilberger 07.1855

Other children I believe
William 1883; August 1883; Fred 1884; Louisa 1886; Theresa 1889; Charles 1894. Like I said above I am not totally sure on all of the above.

By any chance do you have any information on Cathie Gray? All the old emails are invalid on posts she had made. I do not have anything and I would really like to get in touch with her. That is the only connection left on my mother's side of the family.

Please contact me either way. It is nice to know there are other Auberts out there.

Where is your family from? From everything I remember my mother said was she was Polish and French. It was due to borders changing etc. But I was young when they were talking about it and I am not positive.

Hi! I'm sure we've got to be related but not sure exactly how. My mother was Marie Lillian Aubert; her father Edwin Joseph Aubert; his father Christian (Chris or Christopher) Aubert. We lived in DesPlaines from 1952 to 1968. Seems like I vaguely remember my Mom mentioning a relative who lived in DesPlaines but as far as I know we never contacted them. Back in the late 1980's I corresponded a little with Marilyn Weber. She had been kind enough to send me some of her info which regretfully got lost. Would love to hear from you.
Hi,
My maternal great-grandfather was Constant Charles Aubert, born about 1865 in Neuchatel, Switzerland. He married Edith Ellwood and they resided in Pierce and Knox, Nebraska. He was a baker and a railroad conductor. Their daughter, Gladys Foerster Bals, was my maternal grandmother. I would love to see what you have about the Aubert's entry into the US from Switzerland. Thanks ahead of time.

My mother is an Aubert descended from Oren>Charles W. Aubert>George W. Aubert>Philippe Aubert.
Unfortunately, beyond George W. who according to census entries was born in WashDC or MD, we've never been able to find anything. George settled in Licking Co, OH, then moved to Sullivan Co., IL. His son Charles married in IL shortly after the CW and came here to Iowa. His son and daughter remained here - the other four children moved on to Washington state and Alaska.
Several of us have been searching for years for information on both George W. and Philippe.
My great-great Aunt Effie Aubert Irish (daughter of Charles W. Aubert) whom I knew until she died in 1952, was virtually the only source of information about the Aubert family. She's the one who mentioned the name Philippe and that he was supposedly from Alsace - possibly a mercenary in the Revolution. He seems to have disappeared in Ohio in Coshocton - however, no records exist that I've been able to uncover. My mother said that at one time Aunt Effie had a map marked with the village from which the Auberts originated. Well, that's disappeared!
Thanks so much.
Hi,

The best advice I can give you is to contact your local Family History Center. Type Family History Center in the "search the web" box at the top of this page, this will pull up a listing of similar topics - click on the one for Family History Centers and, hopefully, it show a listing of states, select yours and get the address of the center near you. Or else you can go to their websight at FamilySearch.org (type that in the "search the web" box), or look them up in the phone book. Anyway you do it, once you contact them, they will be able to help you get started much better than I can. The people at the center near me were great, but their hours and my hours stopped being the same and I don't live that close so I had to stop using their resources.
Let me know if can be of anymore help.
Tammy

Condrieu is just south of Lyon in the Rhone district, if you are researching in France. There are some good web pages with lists of surnames being researched in the Rhone area. :http://www.chez.com/acrhone/cgw69/fc69somr.htm
http://www.chez.com/acrhone/
http://www.visit-rhone-alpes.com/
