I am interested in your mother's side of the family. Was she, by any chance, related to Gavins of New Hampshire? I have quite a few Algers in my family tree decended from my Great great uncle John Gavin originally of Knockcroghery, Roscommon, Ireland. Would love to hear from you. Dot O'Connor

My Great Grandfather was James Aubertin Grace.

He was on of 6 children to James George Grace and Sarah
Aubertin who married in 1866.

Sarah, being on of the 8 children (Selina, Charles,William, Henry, Eleanor, Frank and Alice) to Charles Thomas Aubertin and his wife Sarah.
Charles of course, as you know was the Colonels son.

I am a part of the Aubertin family in Minnesota. My great grandfather grew up in an orphanage and it would be helpful to learn more about our family. The orphanage was in Arizona and his name was Edgar Edward Aubertin. His dad was from the Canadian border and his mother was an indian servant who worked for him. Please help us to bridge this gap in our family line.

their daughter Sarah AUBERTIN b. 1841.

Aubertin's in NY

We descend from a BARTON line in Upstate NY (Clinton County/Essex County). Through a lot of research, it appears our formal last name was "MARQUIS dit AUBERTIN." Later shortened to Bertin, Bartin, and finally settled on Barton which stuck with the following generations. We are looking for Lewis/Louis MARQUIS dit AUBERTIN, who was born in the early 1800's....most documents say he was born in NY.

I am still working on their first names because those have changed as well. For example, the Mary Elizabeth in our family was probably Marie Isabelle. We are also looking to see if any of our family relatives went the other way with the last name "MARQUIS" instead of "AUBERTIN" (which later became BARTON).

Anybody have any clues??

I have a Charles Aubertin married to a Harriet Sedgley in Andover and have him coming from Croismare, Meurthe-Et-Moselle in France.!!
I have a large number of Aubertin's in my tree from around that area of Hampshire

I have a Charles Aubertin born in Croismare, Meurthe-Et-Moiselle, France abt 1792, christened 25 Aug 1792, married to Harriet Sedgley 16 Jan 1815 and died in Andover, 7 May 1892. Which made him 100!!.

Did Aubertin family change the spelling when coming to the U.S. Alphonse Obertin came from Canada and immigrated to Elmira NY by way of Rochester. Cannot find anything in Canada with the spelling of Obertin, but Three Rivers, Canada is where the other side of the family came from and since they were all shoemakers I thought they must have known each other before immigrating since their children ended up marrying each other.

I have Antoine Gauthier m. Elizabeth Aubertin, parents of Catherine Gauthier married to Alexis Perrreault in Chambly 1839. Catherine M. Perreault married JB Brault.

Hello Adele, I saw your message and could tell you quite a lot about the Aubertin family from Andover. If you tell me where to email you, I will do so and give me the name of your Great grandmother so I can see where she fits into the tree. My wife is the one who is a direct descendant but I have done quite a bit of research on the family. Captine Charles Aubertin had two sons, Charles Thomas and William Aubertin who both had families in Andover area and my wife is a descendant of Charles Thomas. thank you for the quick response. My Grandfather's name is William Facey and his mother was Elizabeth Eleanor Aubertin. The family are from Amport in Andover and some relations still live there. My Grandfather married a Welsh woman and my family live in Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales.
