My father is Henry (Roger) Auclair, his father would be Alfred J. Auclair and mother would be Mary. They lived in Holyoke, Massachusetts in the 1920;s.

I just recently started my search for the Auclair Family and so far am having a hard time finding information.
My father is Roger (Henry) Auclair, his father is Alfred J. Auclair and mother Mary. They lived in Holyoke, Massachusetts. I can't get beyond Alfred J. and Mary. Some other names are Oclaire, O Clecre.

This sounds like it could be my Joseph E. Auclair lineage. He was married to Marie Anne Auger. Besides Romeo, Aurore and the other siblings, he also sired son Leo Romeo Auclair (who was my grandfather). I have pictures of Joseph and Marie if you're interested.

I am very happy there may possibly be such a large amount of information regarding my Auclair ancestors. I am very interested in learning more about the family history of my paternal grandmother, Marie Leontine Auclair. I only know she was born in Quebec, and married my grandfather, Joseph A. Juch (aka Yukes), in Massachusetts on September 27, 1916. If the information is included in your book, I would greatly appreciate it very much if you could direct me on how to acquire it.

My grandmother Marie Leontine Auclair was born in Quebec during the latter part of the 19th century. I understand she was a direct descendant of Pierre Auclair and Suzanne Aubineau. Does anyone have any background info regarding our ancestors in La Rachelle or St. Vivien, France?

Your post is really very interesting. I have assisted the Auclair Association in Canada since 1999 and wrote a two-volume book on the Auclair family, including the female Auclair's through 2005. I am now working on a revision to the book, which I hope to publish in the next year. It sounds like you are just beginning and, if you really are assisting the Auclair Association in Canada, you should have not only the male marriages through 1950, but those after 1950 up to date, as well as the same listings for the female marriages. I have gone a few steps further in getting not only the marriages, but also the births, baptisms and deaths of Auclair's, not only in Canada, but all over the U.S., including Hawaii and Alaska. So, it sounds like I could assist you much more than you can assist me. Please give me your full name, as well as your email address and where you live and I will consider helping you, if you are honest about who you are and where you live. I had a very bad experience with another Auclair in 2000 where I was supposed to be exchanging information with another Auclair and he would exchange information with me, so I gave him all of the info that I had and after he incorporated it into his database, he accused me of stealing his information (that he had gotten from me). So, it is a slippery slope and I don't want to get headed in that direction again. As a result, I now ask for information from the other person before I will provide any information that I have. So, I have to be sure that you are really helping the Auclair Association. With whom are you communicating at the Auclair Association, and who asked you for your help?

I don't know who you are, but I already have a huge database of male Auclair's married up through 2010, as well as a huge listing of female Auclair's who married up through 2010. In fact, I have written a book on the Auclair family and am in the process of doing a revision on that book. I have been working very closely with the Auclair Association in Canada and they have told me that they would not work with anyone else, so if all you have is a male listing up through 1950 and not much on the female Auclair's, you are the wrong person for people to seek information from. I would appreciate so much any information on the Auclair/Valliere families. The main character in this genealogy disappeared from our branch of these families.

Given names would be Albert Alfred, Pierre, maybe Joseph.

Either Simone Auclair married a Valliere, or perhaps she was Simone Valliere who married an Auclair.

Trying to find that missing link, and find the great grandfather for my grandchildren and descendents.

I could probably help you more than anyone I know, but I need more information. What was André's mother's name, including her birth name? There are so many André's that it is impossible to know which one you are asking about. Also, do you know his date of birth, where he was born, his father's name, was he born in the U.S. or was he born in Canada? André, Pierre, Joseph and Jean-Baptiste are the most common Auclair names, so I need something else to go on.
I wrote a book on the Auclair Family from 1666-2005. I don't know if I can help you, but will do all that I can to help. Knowing where André was born and when would be a help, as well as the names of his parents.

That depends on which reunion you want to go to. The Auclair Association has an annual reunion in Canada for Auclair's of any spelling and county (U.S. or Canada), there is a reunion of O'Clair's in Maine annually in upstate ME, and there are planned reunions of branches of Auclair families in upstate Maine and NY State.

Do you have a specific reunion in mind? I don't have all of the dates yet, as they are still in the planning process, but have received emails from a few of them.

My great grandfather was born Joseph Francis O'Clair/Auclair on July 3, 1893 in Valley Falls, Cumberland, RI. He was born the "illegitimate son" of "unknown parents". We are searching for Andre Joseph Auclair. He was an airforce pilot in 1956 at Fort Chipweyan, Alberta. His mother taught at the Holy Angel School. He would have been approximately 18 to 19 years old. We have a picture of him with his uniform on during this time. It is very important that we find him.

My family has O'clair. (this was my Grandmothers maiden name) I am most interested in learning more. I also have a story in my history about Auclair to O'clair. If anyone in interested in hearing it I would be willing to post it, but please note that this is just a story that was told to me as a child by my Mother it has no factual documentation to go along with it. It is way more interesting than illiterate census takers (although I am fairly certain the census taker theory is the most likely of the reasons);)

Two sisters have asked me to write seeking information about a Margaret Meleady, probably born around 1909 or 1912 (possibly in Galway) and who they think died around the late 1980’s. The sisters think this lady would have been their mother who gave them for adoption at the time of their birth and who they never met. I consulted with my father and Eva was definitely
the daughter of Beloni and Lea. She has a brother
Isaac which would co-incide with your info.
My father Wilfred R. Bacon is her son and I
am his daughter. My father thinks that somewhere
in the Auclair family, perhaps through a ggm
of Beloni that there is Native Canadian blood in
the family. Do you know anything about this or have any idea
how i could find out for certain?

Looking for any information on Joseph Auclair (Oclare, Auclaire, Oclair) b. 1869 approx. in Rhode Island. He married my gg aunt Amelia (Melia) Langlois, b. 1873 in Vermont, they were married on 08 Jan 1894 in St. Mary's Church, Franklin, Massachusetts. He listed his father as Pierre Auclair and his mother as Marie Laliberte. Amelia (Melia) Langlois parents were Olivier Langlois and Selina Bernier.

The only census I can locate them in is the 1900 census of Woonsocket, RI, and listed Arthur as their son born Jan. 1900. Nothing else is known on Arthur. She also had a daughter, but was not listed in the census? Her name is Emma Auclair b. 1896, she married Patrick (Patsy) Joseph Goguen, b. 06 May 1882 in Moncton, NB., they were married in St. John's Church, North Smithfield, Rhode Island on 24 Aug 1915. They lived in Slatersville, RI. Both are buried in the St. John’s Church Cemetery.

My great grandmother, Agnes Langlois was also married in Franklin, MA, to Alphonse Ouellette then moved to Alberta, Canada in 1910. Not much is known about her siblings or if there are any living relatives in Rhode Island or Massachusetts.

Of course their names were often miss spelled. I have located them under Longua, Longued, Longway, Longwan.

Donald F. Auclair Jr., 40, of Lomira, Wisconsin died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001, at his home. He was born Nov. 4, 1960, in Milwaukee, the son of Donald and Nickie (Nichols) Auclair.
Survivors include a daughter, Kristen of Olympia, Wash; dearest friend, Jean Green of North Fond du Lac; his parents, Donald and Nickie of Lomira; brothers and sisters, Charles (Paulette) of Milwaukee, Michael (Delores) of Bollingbrook, Ill., Penny (Don) Neller of Milwaukee, Pamela (Fred) Brown of Calgary, Alberta, Patti Eickermann of Sheboygan Falls, John (Nancy) of Reno, Nev., Daniel of Lomira, Wis. As per Donald's wishes his bone and tissue have been harvested for
transplant.
