Cher

Would you mind turning off CAPS? No need to shout.

I do not see how your Maturin ties to this string. Would you mind starting a "New Thread"?

Give us his name. Who did he marry, where & when? The child (or Children) you have. Do you have a event we can work from?

I assume that he is in LA. There are 4 sets of books to be checked if we do not have a better location.

Please try & work on the board so that others can have the info and may be able to add additional details.

1765 is a very hard time to work as his parents were in exile somewhere & we need to figure out where.

Paul Le Blanc
l'Ascension
Louisiane
If this is the correct Amedee Lubin Aucoin (which seems likely) then your Amedee was my grandfather's 1st cousin.

Lubin Aucoin was the brother of Lazare Aucoin (my great grandfater).

What type of information are you looking for? I have information regarding Lazare's ancestors and descendants, but don't have information about Lubin's descendants.

Donald Aucoin Jr 1952-2009

BANGOR - Donald Eyves Aucoin Jr., 57, died peacefully June 14, 2009, at his home. He was born March 17, 1952, in Bangor, the only son of Donald E. Aucoin Sr. and Eleanor Aucoin. At birth Don's life was expected to be a short one. In reality he lived long and prospered. Don overcame one medical issue after another from atrial septal defect, blocked pulmonary artery, muscular dystrophy and diabetes. Don never let any of these conditions limit him and perhaps because of them his strong love for the study of science developed. He focused on his aptitudes and was a learner and a teacher to the best of his abilities all his life. He always tried to give back to his community including; volunteering many hours each year to Northeast COMBAT, now CONTACT, serving as a local NASA Solar System Ambassador to help educate local people about NASA activities, serving as a greeter at Saint Mary's Catholic Church, becoming in 2006 a professed Secular Franciscan, helping each year with the MDA telethon and being honored with their 2008 Robert Ross MDA Personal Achievement Award. For 26 years, Don served on the USS Kasimar, a local Star Trek fan/service club. For much of this time he was the chief science officer and at the time of his death was the group's commanding officer. Don told friends he believed "I had a good life in spite of the health problems, so I can't complain. John Denver had a song with the words, "I'd like to raise a family, I'd like to sail away and dance across the mountains on the moon. "Well, I got the family, and I got to sail several times, dancing across the mountain on the moon just wasn't possible. But only 12 people have had that pleasure." Don is survived by his wife of 11 years, Sharon; his stepdaughter, Rebecca Gallagher; his parents, Donald Sr. and Eleanor; five sisters, Stephanie and Jim Mooney, Nadine and John Higgins, Stacy and Pat Vandyne, Celeste Harriman, Dedrea and Randy Pavliska; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and Red Sox and Star Trek fans across the country. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. June 24 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Ohio Street, Bangor. There will be a reception afterwards at the church. Burial will be in Glenburn.

Lynn

Thank you so much for this great info. I've spent the last couple of hours expanding on what you sent me with Census data but I have hit a road block again and I wonder if you have anymore info you are willing to share with me.

You asked me to email you privately but I do not have another email address for you. You can contact me privately at pjj100@telus.net with the answers if you wish.

I found what I believe might be Chester on the 1930 Census married to Marjorie with a child Paris L.. The Census says this child is male, is that correct? What a cool name particularly for that time and doubely for a male child. Do you have spousal information about any of Chester's siblings? I don't want anything about anyone who could still be alive just thing I could tie in on the 1940 Census when it comes out.

How about Chester's father's siblings? Do you have any information on any of thier spouses? I checked the Census information about them but it really would have been nothing more than a guess.

Thank you so very much for all you help. Good luck with your search.

Again my address is: pjj100@telus.net

Cheers

Paula

Hi Paula,

Yes I do. I'm just beginning my research on Gedeon Aucoin and Amelie Naquin.

From the 1910 Census, Gedeon and his daughter, Ella(32), were living in Police Jury Ward 8, Terrebonne, Louisiana. His approximate year of birth is 1828. Gedeon G. Aucoin is listed in the Louisian Deaths as having died 24 DEC 1922 at the age of 94 years in Terrebonne Parish, LA. I have not ordered his death record but plan on doing so very soon.

I do not have any information about Amelie Naquin other than what is found here on Ancestry.com and RootsWeb.com.

As for Albert Aucoin, my husband's paternal great grandfather, I can only find a census record that states he was born AUG 1872. We know that he was born in Terrebonne from his death notice. Albert died 19 MAR 1917, New Orlenas, LA. I'll be ordering his death record also.

Chester Aucoin
B. 7 May 1905, McComb, MS
D. 31 Dec 1967, New Orleans, LA

Audel Aucoin
B. 6 Aug 1907, LA
D. 13 Nov 1932, LA

Ethel Aucoin Abadie
B. 12 Jun 1911, New Orleans, LA
D. 26 Jun 1981, Chalmette, LA

David Aucoin
B. 21 Jul 1915, New Orleans, LA
D. 30 Dec 1986, New Orleans, LA

If you should have any other questions, please email me privately.

Lynn

If this gets through, which one of the Wedges are you? I am trying to trace the same family - your great grandfather was Joseph John Aucoin Wedge, born 24 Oct 1866 in Mont Carmel, PEI to Elie and Judith (Gallant) Aucoin (Ocoin) Wedge. His wife was Elizabeth (actually a second wife) and they had four children of whom Alfred was the 3rd. Elizabeth died when Alfred was 8 or 9. The other children were Leo, Rennie and Alyer (Alier), and he was a carpenter. The youngest Rennie was born in Maine. I am searching this line (for the heck of it) because my sister is married to Alfred's son John. Joseph was married prior to Elizabeth (he was 44 and she was 31 at marriage) to an unknown woman with whom he had 2 known children, Octave and Zoe. If you get this, please let me know. This would make my nieces your cousins.
messiebeaucoup@comcast.net
Hello
My name is Barbara Robbins,(LaBossiere) and from what I have discovered is that Francois Girouard married Jeanne Aucoin and the are my 8th generations of great grand parents. I have Francois born in 1621 and Jeanne born in 1631 married in 1647. I believe that Francois mothers name was LaVarne? Does this info. sound correct?
I have just started checking into my fathers family history and have lots more to do. Thanks in advance for any info. you might have

Barbara

I just found out after searching for 21 years my birth name is Aucoin. Jeffrey Andrew Aucoin to be exact. Hopefully I can find out information about my lineage here. I was born March 28 1969 at Misericordia Hospital in the Bronx to a woman who was from and returned to Maine after my birth, still searching for her jsut to say hello and let her know I am alive and well and to find out if I have any brothers and sisters,

Dont know where in Maine she was from but I know she had red hair and worked in a jewelery store and was French. Anyways by tracking my birth certificate number I found out my birth last name and am now doing research on that name any help would be appreciated
