Hello Howard

Alan Nelson has a huge amount of information on the Auger family in England, however, you may not know that your Augers owned oyster beds at Burnham. There is some information at the following web address:

http://www.essex-family-history.co.uk/oysters.htm

The Augers' Burnham house has recently been restored and I understand there is a fair bit of information available at the local museum. I believe the original John Auger was left the oyster beds by his boss who died without heirs.

Briefly, I am an Auger by birth with my family, from my grandfather back, originally coming from Essex.

Kind regards

Cherry

Kate Elizabeth Auger & John Gilson Auger, Middlesex/Essex (UK)

Am trying to find out (or confirm) details about the family of Kate Elizabeth Auger, who married my 2nd great-grandfather, John Sewell in Camberwell, London in 1870. Her father was John Gilson Auger and she had a sister Maria who was with John and Kate in 1871 age 16.

However, when I try to go back to John Gilson Auger, things get confusing. His name may in fact be Gilson John Auger, and there are conflicting details as to his father – who could be John Gilson Auger (RootsWeb) or William G. Auger (Boyd's Index for Essex). Both show as having married Lavinia Sweeting.

Anyone have these folks in their tree with definitive details to help me sort this out?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Howard
Looking for any information on ZOE AUGER born abt 1844. All I know is :

she married Olivier Hurtubise (1837- 1886) in 1861 and had many children including my GGrandfather Pierre Hurtubise.

They Lived around The Brook??? in Russell Ontario. Seems the Hurtubise Family had strong ties to Bourget.

I believe Zoe remarried in 1891 to Olivier Ethier.

That's all I know. Appreciate any information (her parents, siblings, etc.)

Thank you

Rhonda
rho_marie@hotmail.com

HI Alan,

I am new to this so I must have set the message up wrong in some way. My ID is N_Whitear and my connection to Cornish Augers runs back through two Augers who came to London at the end of the 19 century.

Richard Auger is my great-great grandfather. He opened a coffee shop in Camden High Street after having been a blacksmith in Cornwall. His elder brother John also had a similar place initially in Grays Inn Road and then in Judd Street (opposite the new British Library).

I think they were strong Methodists and there was support for opening such shops as part of the temperance movement of the time. I am trying to find family papers or historical documents that illustrate that chapter a little better.

Yrz

Nick W.
I am very interested in the Auger line. It is my understanding that Pierre (sometimes called August) Auger (variously spelled as Augare/Augere, Auger) was either the son of or the spouse of a certain Theresa Marie Rivard. Either he or one of his offspring by the same name was married to one Julia Reevis, a Native American of the Blackfoot tribe in Montana and was either the father or the stepfather of Emma, who born in 1876, and of Amy , August, Emmett, and Francis (Frank). I believe that Emma was my paternal grandmother and, once I've established this as fact, which I ought to be able to do with your help, I can share a lot of truly interesting facts about her life. She was a most unusual lady. You may contact me through this site of write me directly at westrich@mchsi.com

Hi Jim and Donna
It has been a long time since you posted these and I hope you are still checking these. I just recently connected the Ogeas to my family tree. My husband comes in on the Carriere line and another line farther down into the Ogea line also. I would love to share info of any I can with you. The Carriere line goes way back to France through a long line in Canada. Anyway Marie Leocadie Carriere's father is the brother to my husbands gg grandfather Jean Baptiste Carriere.
I live in the Oconto Falls, WI area but my kids are in school at NMU in Marquette, Michigan so I get up there quite often. Much of my husbands family is still there. Hope to hear from you. My email is: i2mtraveling@hotmail.com please put family tree in the subject line so I know to open it. Thanks so much.

I should have re-read my notes more carefully -- this is indeed the person you are looking for as evidenced by the birth record of her nephew. In the margin of that birth record is:

"veuve Joseph Brousseau" which is to be inserted after "Malvina Auger".

In case you don't speak French, "veuve" means "widow of".

(I have a scan of this record on my web site: http://charette.no-ip.com:1234/Charette/img/a/a/aa44186ba613...)

Her parents, Thomas Auger and Eusebie Thiffault were married in Saint-Stanislas, Québec. Her grandparents were from Cap-de-la-Madeleine and Saint-Stanislas. So I'd say Saint-Stanislas is a good place to start looking.

Stéphane Charette (stephanecharette@gmail.com)

I have in my tree a François-Xavier Auger born in 1853.

One of his siblings is Malvina Auger. However, I don't know who she married, or even when she was born.

In the off chance this is the person you are looking for, at least you'll have some of her ancestors:

http://charette.no-ip.com:1234/Charette/ppl/a/a/aa441d8725a7...

The only reason I have her in my tree is she is mentioned as the godmother of her nephew, seen in this scan:

http://charette.no-ip.com:1234/Charette/img/a/a/aa44186ba613...

Hope this helps.

Stéphane Charette (stephanecharette@gmail.com)

Hello, I wonder if we are related in some way. My name is Joshua Peter Auger. My father, John Peter Auger was born in Manchester, NH on 12/9/1943. His father, Paul Auger (married to Katherine Hazel Moulen), was born in Maine in 1916. My great grandfather was Joseph Auger (married to Caroline Brazeau), and I believe he was born in Canada.
