I am aware of two branches of the Aunger family in Cornwall. I am in correspondence with members of both branches and we can't find the connection, but believe they are connected. I have searched my records for both branches, which comprise bout 4400 people, and find no Rebecca/Rebeckah/Rebeka Aunger in one branch. From my branch, the only Richard in your date range was the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Aunger, born 11 Aug 1771 in Warbstow Parish, Cornwall, and died in 1786 (age 14). Richard had a sister, Rebecca, baptized 16 Apr 1769 in Treneglos Parish, Cornwall. She married Nathaniel Poppleston in 1794, in Warbstow Parish. The only other Rebecca Aunger in my files was Rebeckah Aunger, daughter of Thomas Aunger and Catherine Mutton, who was baptized 12 Jul 1812 in St. Clether Parish, Cornwall. In 1832, she married Matthew Spear. Their daughter. Jane Rebecca Spear, married Richard Batten. I have no one in my files with the surname Gist/Guist/Guest.

We're researching various GUEST / GIST / GUIST families in Cornwall and families with whom they inter-married including DAW and AUNGER

Currently we are looking for information on the parents of Rebecca / Rebekah AUNGER b. 1809 Lawhitton Cornwall who married firstly George GIST / GUIST /GUEST 31 Jul 1834 in Lewannick nr Launceston, Cornwall.

We believe Rebecca's father's firstname was Richard AUNGER.

He was probably born around 1790 near Launceston.

Rebecca remarried John SNELL of S Petherwin, after George GUIST died

Any info would be much appreciated

We wondered if the AUNGERs in Cornwall we non-conformists and therefore

absent from Parish Records

I have been looking for you for a long time. Your Grandmother, Marion, and I used to correspond frequently. I still hear from your Aunt Joanna at Christmas. The last I knew of you, Marion said you were living on your boat in Seattle.

I have been working on the Aunger family for many years, and am working on the last stages of a book on the family, covering 12 generations.

We have never met, but your great grand-father and mine were half-brothers. I have a lot of info on the Aungers. Your grandmother, Marion, and I used to correspond all the time. I had the privilege of visiting her in Grand Rapids some years ago. If you will reply and give me your E-mail address, I can give you a lot of information.
