David Scott Aurandt

David Scott Aurandt, 69, of Duncansville, went home to be with the Lord Thursday at his home.
David was born in Altoona, the son of the late John and Helen M. (Mattas) Aurandt.
David married Betsy White on Aug. 11, 1997. She preceded him in death.
David is survived by two children from previous marriages: his daughter, Rhonda Musselman (Sam) of Altoona, and his son, William Aurandt;
grandchildren: Lindsay Finnegan, Kaitlin Musselman, and Ashley, William Jr., and Chelsea Aurandt; great-grandchildren Emma and Landyn; and a brother, Stephen Aurandt (Donna) of Altoona.
David is also survived by three step-daughters: Wanda, Amy, and Sharon;
and three step-great-grandchildren.
His brother Charles (survived by wife, Marlene) and twin brother Michael preceded him in death.
He was a 1959 graduate of Altoona High School and played varsity basketball.
He worked at the Altoona Mirror as a printer for 25 years and retired as a corrections officer from Blair County Prison after 18 years of service.
He attended the Foot of Ten Bible Church.
David enjoyed gardening, his dogs, and was a member of the Silver Sneakers at the Summit Tennis and Athletic Club.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home Inc., 2309 Broad Avenue, Altoona, with Pastors John Collins and David Huston officiating. Interment will be held at Alto Reste Park.
