My late Mother also had a brother called John that I think may have died in the war. My Mother died in 1985, she was born 1928. She was known as Milly to people, amelia her name, 2nd being Rose. She lived in London Bow for ages. Her family that I knew are all deceased now, Her mum married 2nd time, I think he died around 1968, which is same year I was born, I am only child from my parents. My Mum married my Dad in 1958 and took the name of Avard. In the UK London. Hope this helps anyone out there, I may not be able to reply back though, due to if I am charged to do so, so if you dont near back from me then you know why.

My grand dad was born 1880, Matthew Avard, known as Pop to the family. My Dad married my Mum in 1958. My Dad was born between Essex/London UK. Grand dad also in UK, I think he may have been Irish origin but not sure. Pop along with my Mother buried in Barking cemetary Essex. Pop married twice, 2nd lady was called Jessie, Pop died in 1960 and I think Jessie in 1975. They lived in East London in a big house I believe. or may have been between Barking Essex/East London around those areas. I never knew my grand parents personally. As I was not born until 1968, I am an only child of my parents. Hope this information may help some one. My Mum was called Milly who died in 1985. Mothers maiden name was Hopgood. Connie and Joyce moved to USA years ago, New York, but both deceased now.

Looking for anyone who is researching ancestry in the mainly Kent and probably Sussex area. I am descended from John James Wallis Avards born abt 1828 and Thomas Avards born 1795 and another Thomas and John born at Egerton back to 1750 I think!
Common ancestors I believe lived at the Village Mill House in Lamberhurst. My grandfather Daniel John Avards was a master baker so I am sure thre is a connection. My great grandfather also worked as a head gardener at Mabledon House for Deacon's the bankers I believe.

Any information from other researchers would be useful and from present descendants.

Christine

The published marriage register for Notre-Dame-du-Rosaire-de-St-Hyacinthe gives the marriage of Jacques Archambault and Sophie Avard 1838-10-01. Jacques' parents are listed as Joseph Archambault and Marie-Paule Archambault. Is this a clerical or transcription error? Should the mother actually be Marie-Rose Racine m: Joseph Archambault 1806-02-10 at N-D-du-Rosaire-de-St-Hyacinthe? Thanks et merci!! Thom

Avards in Eastern Australia

I was reading through some of the other posted messages, and for Jordon, there are quite a few of us scattered around the world, my knowledge on the history is limited, but i am aware of some points. The avards came from france, Normandy to be precise, they were persecuted under a french monarch that i can't remember the name of, and then fled to Ireland. In Ireland the name Avard was hiphenated to A'Vard. From Ireland, the Avards moved on, to Australia, Canada and the US. I hope that this helps a little bit. Any other questions shoot me an email.

I a searching for a living descendant of Sampson Avard, born ca. 1800 on the Isle of Guernsey. In later life he settled in Edwardsville, Illinois. His youngest son, Henry, died in Washington Co., Kansas around 1880. Henry's wife's maiden name was Mary Ann Mundis.
