He married Martha Fritz, the daughter of William and Fredricka Thome Fritz, who was born Nov 30, 1888 and was also fra Germany. They were married Feb 28, 1906 in Adair, Iowa and three children were born to them:<br>Dora Ave: born 1906<br>Laura Ave: born 1908<br>Louis Ave: born 1911<br><br>They came to Brown Township in 1913 and the following children were born:<br>Irene Ave: 1916<br>Melvin Ave: 1920<br>Wiladean Ave: 1923<br>they were all born on South Prairie. The Ave family bought the Valentine Marquardt homestead in 1913. Mr Ave served on the school board of Coulee District No 18.<br><br>Dora Ave married Harold Hammer of Velva. Laura married Edwin Howe.
