      <description>Hi Maira,&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I am one of the grandchildren of Salvadore Avellino(1898) (Islas De Ponce, Italy) and Estella Avellino.  The lived in the Dominican Republic. They had started off with 19 born and 16 brothers and sisters grew up together. Some of children names are Meri, Sandina, Hector, Mercedes, Josepe, Pepino, Ramon, Asunda, Silverio, Andres, Marcelo, Salvador, Gregorio, Jose.       <description>I have the following family info:&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;James Avellino, born about 1861, and Mary Rovito, born about 1865 married about 1884  in Isca Sullo Ionio.  &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;They settled in Kulpmont PA and had the following children:&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;1. James, b 1895 - married Concetta Pettello, April 26, 1914--lived in Marion Heights(Used to also be called "Keiser").  &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;2. Andrew b 1897&lt;br&gt;3. Victoria b 1899&lt;br&gt;4. Katherine b 1903&lt;br&gt;5. Mary b 1901&lt;br&gt;6. Umberto b 1905&lt;br&gt;7. Fred b 1908&lt;br&gt;</description>

      <description>I don't have too much infomation, since I am just beginning this search.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;My great-great grandmother's maiden name was Rovito, and her married name was Avellino.  I can't remember their first names (I'll have to ask my aunt again over Christmas).  I am pretty sure they were originally from Isca Sullo Ionio.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Their daughter was Clara Avellino (my great grandmother) who married my great grandfather, Sam Calabretta.  I know that they settled in Kulpmont, PA and then in Harrisburg, PA many years later.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Additionally, I am pretty sure that my great-grandmother's brother was named Londo, and he married a woman named Rose.</description>

      <description>John Avellino - started Avellino/Avellinas Florist in Brooklyn, NY.  Possibly married Emilia.  Son of Antonio and Louisa.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;John was one of several Avellino brothers (Vincenzo, Frank, Tripsy, Joe, Michael) who came to America.       <description>SHAMOKIN — Carl Albert “Al” Avellino, 90, of 51 N. Second St., died at 1:50 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, at Mountain View Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Coal Township.&lt;br&gt;Born Nov. 20, 1911 in Kulpmont, he was a son of the late Paul and Mary (Rovito) Avellino. He was a lifelong resident of the area and a guest at Mountain View Manor for four days.&lt;br&gt;Having attended Shamokin schools, he was owner and operator of Avellino’s Cafe in Shamokin. He also worked for the state’s Department of Revenue in tax collections.&lt;br&gt;He was married Feb. 24, 1936, in St. Joseph’s Church, Coal Township, to the former Cecelia E. Brenner, who died April 21, 1991.&lt;br&gt;He was a member of Our Lady of Hope Church, Coal Township, and was an active life member of Knights of Columbus, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, the Loyal Order of Moose and West End Fire Company, all of Shamokin.&lt;br&gt;He is survived by a daughter, Beverly Stine of Coal Township; a grandson, Carl Stine of Coal Township; and a sister, Josephine Rumberger of Shamokin. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Alan Arthur Stine; a sister, Margaret Picarellia; and three brothers, Roland “Lefty,” Paul Gilbert and John Vincent Avellino. &lt;br&gt;</description>
