Who were your John Avern's ancestors? This is the 2nd message in a few days that mentions Old Field Farm, the other message in conjunction with an Avern/Taylor line.
I am still trying to place my Avern's in with the others I have come up with. The cemetery transcriptions from Rowington, St. Lawrence show 2 James:
James Avern who died 14 March 1827 aged 69 years and his wife Mary Ann who died 25 Feb 1844 aged 89 years who was very likely the Mary Ann Burdon who was christened on 22 March 1754 in Newbold Pacey.
James Avern who died 18 Feb 1808 aged 34 years (son of Wm & Mary chr on 19 Feb 1774) and James' daughter Mary who died 6 April 1801 aged 17 months "A husband good, a father dear. A faithful friend lies buried here. With faith in Christ he takes his rest. With joyful hopes of being blest. Footstone: J.A. M.A." No wife mentionned, unfortunately.
There are other Averns as well, some more than once:
Ame, Ann, Anne, Clement, Harriet, John, Mary, Mary Ann, Susannah, Susanna, Thomas, William.
Is this the Avern line from Preston Baggot:
