I am looking for the parents of George Avis born 1818 with a John Avis being a possible relative possible relative. George left England in 1835 under duress. Supposedly he found an attendant beating his horse and he beat the attendant. I believe this was done in his early military career. The John Avis was in the Coldstream Guard (Horse Guard). John enlisted into the guard 23 April 1807 and was discharged 4 Mar 1829. The parish shown on his discharge is Henstridge.
