Dr. Wilson T. Axline died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006, at Genesis Hospice, Morrison House. Zanesville, Ohio
Dr. Axline was born Dec. 3, 1914, in Zanesville, to the late Dr. Theodore E. Axline and Golda Wilson Axline. He was a brother to Virginia Axline (Joseph) Schultz (deceased) and husband to Helen Maria Decker Axline (deceased) and Virginia McFarland Bonifield Axline (deceased).
Wilson "Ace" Axline graduated from Lash High School and The Ohio State University School of Dentistry, before becoming a dentist in Newark. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, leaving the service with the rank of lieutenant commander. After leaving the service, he returned to Zanesville where he practiced dentistry for more than 40 years.
He is survived by his children, Robin Jane (Thomas) Scanlon of Kensington, Md., William Andrew Axline (Joan) of Ottawa, Canada, and Kristine Maria (Jonathon) Swedlund of Naperville, Ill.; and a stepson, John Mark Bonifield, of Zanesville. He is also survived by six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Burial will take place in Arlington National Cemetery.
