Dave,
My ancestor, Mary Star (or Starr or Starre) married Thomas Axtell in March 1637 or 1638 in Berkhamstead, Herts, England. Her birth/death date dates are:
Birth: 16 APR 1620 Ashford, Kent, England. Death: 22 APR 1659 Sudbury, Middlesex Co., MA. I don't have much on the Axtells (which is why I posted). I'm not sure about their children: I've seen 4-5 depending upon how many Marys there actually were: Henry, Mary, Mary, Lydia, and Hannah. They were thought to be born in MA.
I actually got this from genealogy information on John Maynard who was Mary's second husband after Thomas Axtell died. I don't have his death date but the particulars of her re-marriage are: 16 Jun 1646 in Sudbury, so I presume Thomas died before 1646. I descend from the Maynard marriage rather than the Axtells. I'm sure you've looked through the posted geds on ancestry.com. I don't which are substantiated by vital records, etc, but you could start by emailing those who post the most info about the Axtells you're looking for. It's interesting that the Maynard info I have says that Thomas's father was also named Thomas. However, many of the ancestry.com postings say it's William. If I were you, I'd use these as leads to begin with, but you'll need to investigate to confirm the right info.
